40 YEARS OF CREATIVITY

JACK GOMME is 40 years old!
Born from the love story between Sophie Rénier and Paul Droulers, JACK GOMME is an unexpected and original personality, with a mission: to remain the lightweight, graphic bag that made its name! He can take on different shapes and colors, and is never short of ideas. It doesn't take itself too seriously, but it doesn't joke about quality.
JACK GOMME is not going through a mid-life crisis. He may have matured, but he hasn't lost his agility.

LOVE & ART

1982 ! Sophie Renier and Paul Droulers cross paths on the beaches of the Côte d'Azur. One was selling sandwiches, the other floral shorts. Love at first sight is inevitable. Young, in love and tanned, with a shared interest in the arts, they decided to study pattern-making at the Esmod school in Paris. In 1985, matured by their studies and inspired, they decided to take the plunge: Congratulations, it's a bag! But a bag like no other... The mysterious JACK GOMME was born.

Sophie and Paul have built a well-balanced creative duo. Sophie has a precise taste for color and a penchant for graphic design. She maintains her taste for nuance by working in ceramics. Paul, on the other hand, has a passion for design and sailing. When you cross the Atlantic single-handed, that's what we call a passion. It inspires him in the shapes and materials that JACK GOMME will be able to adopt, ever more resistant and ergonomic.

PARIS & THE WORKSHOP

JACK GOMME and his designer couple have been based in Paris, the fashion capital, since 1987! It's in Belleville, the artists' district, that they've set up their ideas laboratory.

There's always music playing in the studio, with the Smiths or the Velvet Underground most of the time. JACK GOMME is no stranger to this environment. His roommates Paul and Sophie have built up a solid network of craftsmen and suppliers: people with whom we can exchange ideas, research and innovate, and on whom we can rely for Jack's quality and traceability, which must ensure his reputation! 90% made in France, that's a minimum! His first boutique was near Les Halles. What could be more Parisian? Today, he has three!

FREEDOM & LIGHTNESS

Even as a child, JACK GOMME made those around him laugh. In 1986, barely a year old, he won the humor prize at the Festival International des Arts et de la Mode de Hyères. He showed up in a sack dress, with his buttocks in the air. It's a personality trait he's never lost!

He's a bit hyperactive. His need to move, run and jump forces him to choose only the best materials: he needs elasticity and resistance! He can't take the risk of tearing himself. He has to be light, it's an obsession!

CARGO SUMMER 86

JACK GOMME doesn't like frills. He always chooses timelessness over the latest trend. Over the years, he has adopted different styles, playing with shapes and colors, drawing inspiration from the objects around him. After his first dress-bag, he became an XXL tote bag, CARGO, an ample, geometric tote.
